A snake, fence and light pole fell victim to a Tri-Cities suspected drunk driver
A suspected drunk driver left a trail of destruction on Columbia Park Trail on Tuesday night.
The woman was driving west when she hit another vehicle in Kennewick but continued on into Richland about 11 p.m., according to a Richland police Facebook post.
She then veered off the road on the 1700 block of Columbia Park Trail, knocking over a light pole, sign and fence, as well as running over a snake before stopping.
When she got out of the car, she tried to run, but was confronted by the victim from the initial hit-and-run, police said. She allegedly assaulted that driver and kept running.
Police arrested her a short time later and booked her into the Benton County jail.
While Richland police did not release the suspect’s name, jail records show Sylvia Yolanda Delangel, 27, was booked on suspicion of hit-and-run, simple assault and DUI.
